Casino Estoril
Casino Estoril is the largest casino in Portugal, set in gardens facing the Atlantic west of Lisbon. The present building dates from 1931 and has been extended repeatedly; during the Second World War the surrounding resort filled with exiles, diplomats and intelligence officers, a period that later attached itself to spy fiction.
The property combines classic gaming rooms, a machine hall, a theatre, exhibition space and restaurants, and it anchors the resort strip running from Cascais towards Lisbon. Entry requires identification, and the classic rooms apply a dress code.
