State casino (Spielbank) · Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany
Spielbank Wiesbaden
Wiesbaden's casino is housed in the city's Kurhaus, a monumental spa building completed in 1907 facing a colonnaded square and a park. Gaming in the town long predates the building, and Dostoevsky's losses at the tables here are part of the local account of the place.
The classic rooms occupy the historic halls, with a separate machine hall in an adjoining wing. As a state-licensed Spielbank the venue checks identification at the door and applies a dress code in the main rooms.
