Grand Sierra Resort
Grand Sierra Resort stands apart from the downtown Reno cluster on a large site east of the river, opened in 1978 as the MGM Grand Reno and renamed several times since. The scale of the original building is still evident: a single tower of close to two thousand rooms and an events centre seating several thousand.
The property has been repositioned as a convention and entertainment venue, with a theatre, driving range, cinema and a long retail arcade alongside the gaming floor. Its distance from the city centre makes it a drive-to property rather than a walk-in one.
