GrandWest is the principal casino in Cape Town, at Goodwood on the N1 corridor between the city and the northern suburbs. It opened in 2000 under the Western Cape's licence allocation, on the site of a former cement works.
The complex is themed on Cape Dutch architecture and includes an Olympic-size ice rink, a cinema multiplex, hotels and an arena, which makes it a general leisure destination as much as a gaming floor.
