The Venetian Macao opened in 2007 as the first integrated resort on Cotai and is generally cited as the largest casino in the world by gaming floor area. The building reproduces the Las Vegas property's canal and campanile scheme at greater scale, with a shopping mall of more than three hundred shops on the canal level and an arena beneath.
Its gaming floor is divided into four themed areas plus private VIP salons, and baccarat accounts for the overwhelming share of table play. The resort anchors a continuous indoor pedestrian network linking it to several neighbouring properties, which is how most visitors move around Cotai.
