Cotai is reclaimed land between the islands of Taipa and Coloane, built out after 2004 as Macau's answer to the Las Vegas Strip. The integrated resorts here are horizontal and very large, with convention halls, shopping malls, theatres and multiple hotel brands attached to each gaming floor.
Policy since the 2022 concession renewals has pushed operators to invest in non-gaming attractions and overseas marketing, so Cotai now carries arenas, museums and performance venues alongside the tables. It is linked to the peninsula by causeways and to Hong Kong by the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge.
